So the iPhone 4 only just came out and already Apple is having to respond to widespread complaints about problems with the signal. Fortunately, as Apple explains, there’s nothing really wrong with the signal on people’s iPhone 4 at all, but rather the problem lies in how users are gripping the device.

Apple explains that if you hold the iPhone 4 in such a way as to avoid covering the black strip inside the metal band on both sides, then you should have no trouble with the antenna at all. Even if you only cover one side of the black strip but not the other, you should still have no trouble. The only problem, again, is if you grip the lower left corner of the device in this manner.

For many iPhone 4 users that extra bit of instruction comes as a great relief as they realize that there’s nothing wrong with the antenna on the new iPhone 4.

Apple hasn’t officially released the specs for the soon-to-be-released iPhone 4 yet, but Gizmodo has, based on leaked photos of the upcoming device upgrade and developers sessions at last week’s WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference).

The new device–formerly known as the iPhone 4G, though not a 4G device and as distinct from the iPhone OS 4 operating system, aka iOS 4, which once released can be downloaded onto iPhone 3GS devices–goes on sale to the public on June 24.

The iPhone 4 will come with 512 MB of built in RAM for what they’re promising will be “robust performance”. That’s twice the system memory in the iPad and the iPhone 3GS. This extra memory will allow the iPhone 4 to avail users of iOS 4′s multitasking capabilities.

Though the iPhone 4 doesn’t hit stores until Thursday, June 24, the iOS 4 will available for purchase as of Monday, June 21.

With the announcement that Apple has released the iPhone 4 comes some new features that iPhone users have been waiting for. The new iPhone 4 will now features a front facing camera, retina display, multitasking, a 5 MP camera, HD video recording capabilities in addition to updates in the OS.

Here are some details about each of the above mentioned features from apple.com:

FaceTime:

People have been dreaming about video calling for decades. iPhone 4 makes it a reality. With just a tap, you can wave hello to your kids, share a smile from across the globe, or watch your best friend laugh at your stories — iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And it works right out of the box. No other phone makes staying in touch this much fun.

Retina Display:

The Retina display on iPhone 4 is the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models. In fact, the pixel density is so high that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. Which makes text amazingly crisp and images stunningly sharp.

Multitasking:

iPhone 4 introduces a whole new way of multitasking. Now you can run your favorite third-party apps — and switch between them instantly — without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily.1 This smarter approach to multitasking is available only on iPhone.

HD Video Recording and Editing:

Shoot your own movies in high definition. Capture impressive video even in low-light settings, thanks to the advanced backside illumination sensor and built-in LED light. Then edit and create your own mini-masterpiece right on iPhone 4 using the new iMovie app — with Apple-designed themes, titles, and transitions. It’s coming soon to the App Store for $4.99.

5 MP Camera w/Flash:

Take beautiful, detailed photos with the new 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash. The advanced backside illumination sensor captures great pictures even in low light. And the new front-facing camera makes it easy to take self-portraits.

So as you can see the iPhone 4 is sure to dazzle customers upon its release. However, there are still some unanswered questions. Like, how do you release a new camera that does not even compare to the one on the new Droid Incredible? And, why are you locking Google out of your advertising network? Why are you updating certain features without a real explanation as to why? There are many more secrets to be unveiled I’m sure in the coming months for the iPhone and other Apple devices.
